Evergreens at Kunsthaus Zürich

Evergreens. Selected Works from the Collection brings some of the Kunsthaus Zürich’s most familiar works into unfamiliar company. Across 800 square metres of the Chipperfield building, paintings and sculptures dating from 1622 to 1998 are arranged through visual affinities rather than a simple march through art history.
Monet’s water lilies, Warhol’s Big Torn Campbell’s Soup Can and Francis Bacon’s monumental triptych appear alongside works by Hodler, Picasso, Taeuber-Arp and Tinguely. The pleasure lies in the intervals: changes of scale, colour and temperament that allow a canonical object to become visible again. Personal reflections from people connected to Zürich add another register, treating the collection as part of the city’s lived memory.
The exhibition runs from 11 September 2026 to 10 January 2027. A version will subsequently travel to the National Museum of Korea in Seoul, giving this distinctly Zürich collection a second setting and a different field of comparison.
